There is no doubt that Englewood has a thriving and growing Student Ministry and, as you know, with growth comes added ministry demand! So when Jordan Lloyd, our former Assistant Student Minister, followed God’s call this past September to accept a worship position in Mississippi, we experienced a tremendous loss. Jordan was a vital part in assisting Dave Jackson to minister to over 300 students and their families each week. You can only imagine the load Dave Jackson incurred after Jordan’s departure. This is why it is such a blessing to announce that Josh Allen has answered the call to “fill the gap” by taking the position of Interim Middle School Student Minster as of Jan. 3rd, 2010.
Josh comes to us with great credentials as he has already served in Englewood’s Student Ministry Department for 2 ½ years under Dave Jackson as a Middle School intern. In that time, Josh proved to be exceptional in all ministry capacities from preaching the Wednesday Night Middle School Worship to helping organize ministry for middle school students in areas such as small groups, life to life discipleship, camps, etc. Not only that, Josh has a passion for Middle School Ministry because it was as an 8th grader himself that he felt called to full-time Christian service. Josh is a senior at Union University graduating in May as a major in Christian Studies. He will be an invaluable resource in not only lightening the load of Englewood Student Ministry but he also will be a vital tool in preparing the way for future Middle School ministry.
Josh will serve as Interim Middle School Student Minister through August with full Middle School Ministry responsibility under the supervision of Dave Jackson. He we will serve 20 hrs. per week until May where he will work fulltime thereafter.
Please pray for Josh as he takes on this extraordinary responsibility with Dave.
